ABOUT MINAHAR
We (Zeba Khan and Lisa Smith) founded Minahar out of a desire to deepen the impact of our research and bring our skills to bear on addressing health inequities faced by women, girls, and gender-diverse people.
We are trained academic researchers, with experience working with and alongside a range of groups and organizations, to advance health equity.
Minahar brings together the names of our grandmothers (Mina and Nahar) to honour the generations of women that have lifted us up and cared for their families and communities.
We Work With
We work with not-for-profit organizations, unions, post-secondary institutions, government, and community groups to support evidence-based and informed policy and program decisions.
In the past, we have worked with groups such as the Women and Gender Equality Canada (Canada), United Way Lower Mainland (Canada), The Queens Commonwealth Trust (UK).
